Kyle and Elizabeth loved their Haslett home near Lake Lansing, but their primary bathroom had become one of the most frustrating spaces in the house. The layout felt cramped, storage was limited, and the room simply did not support how the couple moved through their morning routines together.
What they truly wanted was a bathroom that felt spacious, comfortable, and luxurious without needing to expand the footprint of the room itself. Their vision centered around creating a relaxing primary suite with high-end finishes, better functionality, and enough room for both homeowners to comfortably use the space at the same time.
The Challenge: Creating a Luxury Bathroom Within a Limited Footprint
The original bathroom presented several layout limitations that made the space feel smaller and less functional than the homeowners wanted. Kyle and Elizabeth struggled with tight walkways, limited usable space, and a layout that could not comfortably support two people getting ready simultaneously.
At the same time, they hoped to incorporate several luxury features typically associated with much larger bathrooms, including a freestanding soaking tub and an oversized shower area.

The challenge was finding a way to maximize every inch of available space while still delivering the upscale feel the homeowners envisioned.
The Solution: A Reimagined Bathroom Designed for Comfort and Luxury
Working closely through the design-build process, our team completely reworked the bathroom layout to improve usability, openness, and flow. Rather than treating the smaller footprint as a limitation, the design focused on making smarter use of the available space through creative planning and intentional feature placement.
To create the luxurious primary bathroom Kyle and Elizabeth envisioned, the remodel incorporated several customized design elements throughout the space:
- Large Wet Room Shower Layout: The shower area was expanded into a spacious wet-room style layout that created a far more open and functional bathing experience.
- Freestanding Tub Integration: The freestanding tub was strategically incorporated within the larger wet area, allowing the homeowners to enjoy a luxury feature without overcrowding the room.
- Quartz Half-Wall Cap and Niche Shelf: Custom quartz details added both visual refinement and practical storage within the shower space.
- Euro Glass Shower Door: A sleek Euro-style glass enclosure helped maintain visual openness while enhancing the modern aesthetic.
- Subway Tile Installation: Classic subway tile selections created a clean, timeless look that balanced elegance with long-term durability.
During construction, the project encountered a minor issue when a ceiling tile unexpectedly fell. Our production team quickly resolved the problem while keeping the project moving forward smoothly and maintaining homeowner confidence throughout the process.
The completed bathroom completely transformed how Kyle and Elizabeth experience their home each day. What was once a cramped, frustrating space is now a spacious, luxurious primary suite designed for comfort, relaxation, and everyday functionality.
