Ken and Alexa’s home had evolved through several thoughtful updates over the years, but their primary bathroom still reflected its original 1990s layout and no longer matched the rest of the house. As repeat clients who had previously completed multiple projects with Custom Built, they came back with a clear vision for a full-scale bathroom transformation that prioritized both comfort and elevated design. Their goal was a completely reimagined space that felt cohesive with the home’s warm oak trim while delivering a modern, high-functioning layout.
The original bathroom no longer met their needs in terms of comfort, size, or design, especially within a 1990s-era layout that felt closed in and undersized for daily use. Ken and Alexa were ready to invest in a complete redesign that would improve both functionality and aesthetics, with a strong focus on a larger shower, upgraded fixtures, and a more refined overall look.
The Challenge: Outdated Layout and Limited Bathroom Functionality

- Double Vanity Installation: Added a dual-sink vanity setup for improved daily functionality and convenience.
- Stone Countertops: Selected durable stone surfaces to complement the home’s warm wood tones.
- Kohler Fixtures Throughout: Installed premium Kohler fixtures for long-term performance and cohesive design.
- Precision Adjustments During Build: Addressed code updates, window compliance requirements, and on-site installation corrections to ensure the final result matched the design intent.
Despite challenges that arose during construction, including evolving building codes and on-site installation adjustments, our team worked through each issue to maintain design integrity and quality standards. The result was a fully transformed bathroom that delivered both elevated aesthetics and everyday functionality.
