Aaron Maxey brings a creative and people-focused approach to his role as Videographer at Custom Built Design & Remodeling. He plans, shoots, and edits video and photo content that helps tell the story behind each project, capturing the craftsmanship, process, and people that make Custom Built unique.
Before joining the team, Aaron spent three years as a Video Production Specialist at a marketing agency, where he filmed and produced commercials, advertising campaigns, and digital content for a wide variety of clients. Combined with more than a decade of experience serving as a volunteer camera operator at his church, Aaron has developed a strong foundation in visual storytelling and creating content that feels authentic, engaging, and reflective of the company's values.
Aaron grew up in Okemos, Michigan, and now resides in Lansing. After spending time in other areas, he ultimately found his way back to the Greater Lansing community. His interest in photography and videography began in high school, where he spent two years studying photography. That early experience sparked a passion for visual media that has continued to grow throughout his professional career.
What Aaron appreciates most about Custom Built is the company's people-first culture. He values how the team prioritizes both the homeowners they serve and the employees doing the work, creating an environment where everyone feels heard and respected. This culture shapes Aaron's day-to-day approach, encouraging him to build relationships with team members and capture the genuine human side of each project.
Outside of work, Aaron enjoys spending time outdoors, taking walks, and exploring photography in his free time. He also enjoys summer drives with the windows down, playing guitar, and finding creative inspiration in everyday moments.
